# Mar-Ausquenching Salt Bath Furnaces

## Internal Quench Shroud and Variable-Speed Agitator

An internal quench shroud and variable-speed propeller agitator provide vertical lamellar flow to the workload.

## Effective Chloride Removal

The Upton internal separation chamber allows for settling of chloride salts into screened baskets for periodic removal from the bath. Chloride separating chambers can also be designed with a continuously operating, mechanized chloride removal conveyor for high production or fully automated applications.

## Tubular Steel Heat Exchangers

The tubular steel heat exchangers use water atomization and the latent heat of vaporization to transfer heat. Upton units activate automatically at a temperature set point.

## Heating Sources

Upton Mar-Ausquench furnaces are available with electric immersion heating or radiant-tube gas firing, based on available utilities.

## Removable Quench-Tank Components

All internal quench-tank components can be removed for bath maintenance.
