# Externally Heated Salt Pot Furnaces

Externally heated salt pot furnaces with carbon-steel or stainless-steel liners, electric resistance heaters or Upton Hurricane gas burners, for intermittent service.

## Upton Externally Heated Steel-Lined Salt Bath Furnaces

Upton builds externally heated salt bath furnaces with carbon-steel or stainless-steel pot liners, selected for operating conditions.

## Externally Heating Method

These furnaces use electric resistance heaters or gas firing with Upton’s Hurricane burner arrangement. The tangential burners are designed to minimize flame impingement on the salt pot.

## Upton Externally Heated Salt Bath Furnace Applications

Applications include tempering, case hardening, caustic bath cleaning, paint stripping, solution treating of aluminum, and vinyl or plastic curing. Externally heated furnace operation is suited to intermittent service.
